Recordings consist of interviews, feedback interviews, lessons, rituals, and performances primarily on or related to Ge performances. Informants are from various cultural backgrounds including Dan, Wobé, Tura, Mau, Dida, Senufo, Jula (Dyula), Koyaga, and Maninka. Interviews discuss history, terminology, rhythms, spiritual issues, and religion of Ge. Several interviews include biographical information on the informants. Additional interview topics include the manifestation of Ge spirits, the giving of Kola, religious rituals, and individual masks. Feedback interviews include commentary by various performers and informants on videos of events and performances recorded earlier. Recordings of lessons include instruction in drumming, singing, and the Dan (Yacouba) language. Rituals and performances consist of dancing and ceremonies by Ge masks, including Guedro, Guegbadoe, Gbague, Guedror of Locodjrou, Dhutipia, Zaclo, Gua ta Gue of Deoule, Zingbe, Gbingue, and Biansoegue. Additional performances include those by women's societies (e.g., koman, kong, and bile), Gongonli dancing, Senufo bala orchestra, hunter's bards, and Koyaga drummers and singers. Events include the first annual Gueheva festival in Man, the Fête des Ignames at Deoulé, sorcery investigations, divinations, the Guebia (mask race) demi-final and final, a government hosted party for the hairdressers of Man, a Muslim wedding, and funerals. Collector's tapes DR97C78, side B and DR97C79 contain Côte d'Ivoire radio broadcasts by "Fréquence 2" and the BBC."
